I don't shop a lot at this time of the year. The reason for that? I already want to wear the new spring and summer collections, but the weather doesn't allow me to do that. However, this january/february shopping strike causes me saving money so that I'm able to do tons of amazing purchases by the end of March, when the weather is more favorable - hopefully (I heard they expect a very hot spring, so that's a big yay for me). I'll start working on my spring/summer wishlist this weekend, and I can't describe my euphoric feelings when only thinking of all of the gorgeous items that will come through my laptop screen during this search. Wish me luck with my hunt on the best spring/summer clothes ever!

Camouflage
When I saw the weather forecast for yesterday, I didn't have to think for a long time about my choice of footwear for the day. For granted, I chose my all-time favorite suede wedge sandals. I almost forgot how comfortable they are and hey.. don't you think they are beyond gorgeous? I decided to go for sort of a camouflage look. I used items in brown and green shades, and completed the look with my new safari necklace. With an accessoire like that, you imagine yourself in sunny times already. And what's a better feeling than summer? I truly can't wait for it to be that season!

The warming up
I can barely wait to buy my new spring and summer wardrobe. One of the (many) reasons for that: the pastel trend. The items in soft colors definitely stole my heart. However, the climate in Holland doesn't allow me to wear a whole outfit in pastel colors already (think: mint green transparent skirt, peach strappy sandals, and white t-shirt when it's raining..), but I found an alternative. The outfit I wore today consists of light-colored items, but it doesn't look too summery. I guess you can see it as a wintery warming up for spring's hottest trend.

Neat, but youthful
If I've got a little time, I love trying new hairstyles on myself. Long hair provides lots of possibilities, so my hair is perfect to satisfy my creative needs. I try to heat my hair as little as possible, but I just bought a nourishing heat protection spray, so happily I'm able to use the curling- or flat iron more often. Unfortunately, my curling iron is very old and it doesn't work great anymore. So I need a better one. Then someone told me that a better alternative to create glamorous curls would be a flat iron. She's a hairdresser and she makes gorgeous curls with hers. I saw great flat irons here, and I was just wondering.. Do you think I'd do wise to buy one of those, or do you prefer a curling iron?
Then about my look of last Sunday. The hair is inspired by Gossip Girl's Serena. When I saw this hairstyle on her (season 3), I had to try it. I think it looks neat and classy, but playful at the same time. I did my best to create an outfit that's also characterized by these features. On the one hand I chose a sophisticated black blazer and my new Outfitters Nation pants, and on the other hand the snakeskin-printed pieces. I really like the balance between neat and youthful, and I hope you agree with me!

Associations
They say the human brain stores memories in the form of a network of associations, and in my case (as you may expect from a real fashion addict like me) these associations often have to do with clothes. Take this outfit as an example: the blazer strongly reminds me of my trip to London last autumn, the shorts make me think back of a really funny shopping spree, and the two zoppini bracelets are for personal reasons of important value for me. Actually, I associate every garment I own with a moment in my life, a particular thought, or something similar. I guess it's one of the reasons why fashion is such an interesting science - yes, you're reading it correctly: I call it a science.

The classical jacket
It's unbelievable how temperature can change in a short time, but you certainly don't hear me complain. Although rain is expected this weekend, the temperature was so nice today ánd the sun appeared several times. Obviously, I grabbed my chance to wear something less winter-proof than I was forced to the last couple of weeks. I really like the classical Chanel jacket that every girl interested in fashion knows, and somehow the jacket I'm wearing today reminds me of it. It's chic, feminine and cute at the same time, and I totally love it. I styled it with the ivory dress you've probably seen before and with my beige suede heels. Another advantage of dry weater: wearing suede shoes. Have a wonderful weekend, peops!

The colors of love
Happy Valentine's Day, lovelies! For those who celebrate it, I hope you had a wonderful day and I'd love to hear more details/gossip about it - if you want to share it of course. ;-) I wore this outfit last Sunday, but because of its colors I thought it would be more than appropriate to share it today. Honestly, I don't think I can come up with a color that reflects love so well as red and pink do.

The perfect skirt
Finding the perfect skirt is more difficult than passing all of your exams with A+s, giving a speech about the economic recession on national television, or traveling around the world in just four days (only read the latter if you prefer exaggerated metaphors). Ironically, I found mine when my search for it was temporarily on a low flame. It has a metallic hue and its quality and length is beyond excellent. I styled it in combination with my black turtleneck sweater (which is very loose so it's great to wear a couple of layers underneath), the DIY oversized clutch, the silver cuff, and a glamorous black necklace. In my opinion, the latter is definitely the finishign touch to the look even though it's not highly visible because it's also black, but what do you think?
